Building Principals [Leaders, Business, and Communities] on Core Values

For Niagara Falls and the Niagara River Greenway region to rise, the following must be implemented as a mission statement by our local politicians:

Building Principles on Core Values
The Code, created and maintained by the PRSA Board of Ethics and Professional Standards (BEPS), sets out principles and guidelines built on core values. Fundamental values like advocacy, honesty, loyalty, professional development and objectivity structure ethical practice and interaction with clients and the public.

Translating values into principles of ethical practice, the Code advises professionals to:
  • Protect and advance the free flow of accurate and truthful information.
  • Foster informed decision making through open communication.
  • Protect confidential and private information.
  • Promote healthy and fair competition among professionals.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest.
  • Work to strengthen the public’s trust in the profession.

Thought of the Day

Things Frank Croisdale Missed
While Living On The Niagara Frontier

I'd like to see Croisdale walk west on a DeVeaux street, come to the parkway, climb over a fence, run across the parkway...then go back & do it again on the next street, and the next, and the next...I'd like to see Croisdale, his fingers hooked in the chain link fence, peering into the State Park's Maintenance garage area on the gorge rim...I'd like to see him staring at the "princess" on the "other side of the border" when he recognizes her for the gaudy whore that she is...I'd like to see him sitting on Tesla's lap for a photo op...etc. I'd like to see his name on the Niagara Heritage Partnership petition for gorge parkway removal...then I'd know Niagara was rising... --Bob Baxter, Niagara Heritage Partnership

Leadership Defined. Has it Faded Into Myth In Niagara County?

"A true leader has the confidence to stand alone, the courage to make tough decisions and the compassion to listen to the needs of others. They are much like eagles...They don't flock, you find them one at a time." -Mac Anderson

Leadership is a complicated topic, because there are probably as many definitions as there are leaders in the world. That's because a leader is a person with many roles...CEO, soldier, coach, entrepreneur, department head, politician, teacher, minister...as well as parent, spouse, and other personal roles. That's what this movie is about...the most important leadership lessons that we could find. Just click HERE to watch this three minute inspirational movie about leadership.

Stay Motivated,
Motivation in a Minute
A Simple Truths Company
P.S.- Forward this to your family, friends, co-workers, and anyone else who is a leader!

Local Urban Myth: Eleven Foot Sturgeon Caught In 18 Mile Creek, Olcott, NY

18  Mile Creek (north of the Burt Dam), Olcott,  New  York

This is a darn  interesting picture and story even if you aren't  into fishing, But please show it to  anyone you know that likes to  fish. FYI:  This sturgeon  is still alive, just worn out from the  fight. As the sports fishermen  they are, they turned him loose after the  photo.

This Sturgeon was caught  on the 18 Mile Creek (north of the Burt Dam),  Olcott, New York two  weeks ago.
It weighed out at over  1,000 lbs and measured out at  11'1".
It  was 56" around the girth and took over 6 and a  half hours, and 4 dozen beers, for the 4 guys  taking turns at the reeling it  in.

Any Sturgeon OVER about  five feet has to be released unharmed and cannot  be removed from the  water. They are brood /  breeding stock and probably older than most of  us.
